GEOPARK

Langkawi has been accorded the Global Geopark status by UNESCO for its outstanding geological heritage. The island has the distinction of being the first geopark in Malaysia as well as in Southeast Asia. Dubbed as the 'birthplace'or'fetus land'of the region, the island has a history dating back to some 550 million years.

The Geopark Centre is open from 8.00am - 7.00pm daily.
