Balai Nobat

This three-storey octagonal tower houses the sacred instruments of the royal orchestra or nobat. The nine-piece musical ensemble includes serunai (flute), nafiri (a long trumpet), gendang (drum) and gong. The melodious nobat music is only played during royal ceremonies such as inaugurations and weddings. Visitors are free to view Balai Nobat from the outside.
